A: Hi David. I have a good fix on the Bicknell family tree in the UK with 2000 names on my database. But this Michael Bicknell is new to me. I find a Bicknell in that regiment at http://queensregimentalassociation.org/pdfs/volume-10/vol-10-2.pdf on page 14 of 20, “For the Old” but might be too old to be yours. However if you Google the Middlesex Regiment and email the archivist you are bound to find him. https://www.nam.ac.uk/explore/middlesex-regiment-duke-cambridges-own and elsewhere.
