Our condolences to my cousin Peter Gerard Bicknell of Thorncombe, Somerset, UK, on the death of his son Alex who was in movie special effects in Los Angeles, California, then in the London area. Image below of his obituary in the The Times of London (and in The Telegraph).
Here are some comments from Alex’s LinkedIn. “Alex makes VFX Supervising look easy, he is one of the most charismatic, quick witted and intelligent people in his field. Out of all the teams I have worked with over the years, I can safely say that on his shoots they have run the smoothest and the most pleasurable. I would jump at the chance to work with him again” and “I worked with Alex, in often difficult circumstances, on Green Lantern and would love the chance to work with him again. He is consummately professional, endlessly patient, multi talented and well organised, has a well rounded view of the World, is witty, positive and is very generous with his knowledge and time. If I had to use one word to sum up his attributes it would be ‘principled’, a rare commodity in VFX these days.I worked with Alex, in often difficult circumstances, on Green Lantern and would love the chance to work with him again.
